- The time capsule was lost or stolen not long after it had been discovered by a janitor, who was digging up a dead plant so that an entrance to the school could be made wheelchair accessible.
- "Officials do not think the capsule was stolen. Most likely the bottle and its contents made a trip to the landfill, which is not open to the public for a search."
