More info:

  • The time capsule was lost or stolen not long after it had been discovered by a janitor, who was digging up a dead plant so that an entrance to the school could be made wheelchair accessible.
  • "Officials do not think the capsule was stolen. Most likely the bottle and its contents made a trip to the landfill, which is not open to the public for a search."

  • At least two of the second-graders who buried the time capsule in 1976 were dead by 1997, and some were believed to be in jail.

  • 2-inch circular badge made of clay with the inscription, "Grand Lodge, F. and A.M., of Ohio. Bethesda Hospital, August 8, 1915."
  • 4-page program of the cornerstone laying
  • Business card of William N. Werner, president of the Bethesda Hospital Association in 1915
  • Coins (one cent pieces, a 1912 dime, buffalo nickel)
